An Afro-Centric Story

About this book

In the shadow of the British Empire's ambition, a forbidden love quietly defies the tide of history. Will Fred, son of the Empire's most celebrated explorer, arrives in the kingdom of Zambia with one purpose; to advance British dominion. Instead, he falls for Bwalya Daka, a beautiful African woman whose father, the wise and irreverent elder Zyambo begins to see through the Empire's deceptive friendship.

As colonial forces tighten their grip on Balovale's precious minerals and fertile land, Zyambo sounds the alarm. With midnight closing in and danger rising, three unlikely souls; a British explorer, his African bride and child and a beer-loving elder clutching his secrets flee into the unknown, leaving the empire, loyalty and everything familiar behind.

A sweeping tale of love, courage and identity, An Afro-Centric Story reclaims Africa's history through the eyes of those who lived it and refused to be erased by it.
